The Opportunity
This is a full-time cleaning role based at Mt Gravatt Plaza in Mount Gravatt, Queensland. The roster for the position is Tuesday 3:30 pm to 11:06 pm, Wednesday 3:30 pm to 11:06 pm, Thursday 9:00 am to 5:06 pm, Friday 6:00 am to 2:36 pm, and Saturday 7:00 am to 2:36 pm.
Applicants with experience in commercial or retail cleaning are encouraged to apply, particularly those who want to contribute to a team that makes a real difference. Pay is aligned with the Cleaning Services Award 2020.
Key Duties
- Carry out routine cleaning tasks to a professional standard at the Mt Gravatt Plaza site.
- Work independently while maintaining a proactive, well-presented approach.
- Use cleaning chemicals correctly and follow established cleaning methods.
- Operate cleaning equipment where required, including scrubbing and buffing machines and a car park sweeper.
- Maintain safe work habits and comply with workplace safety expectations.
- Follow instructions carefully and communicate clearly in both spoken and written English.
- Handle duties that require physical movement, including extended periods of walking.
- Work the rostered shifts, including flexible hours and public holidays when required.
Role Requirements
- Previous experience in commercial or retail cleaning is preferred, though training will be provided on the job.
- Basic knowledge of chemical handling and cleaning procedures, or a willingness to learn them.
- Experience with cleaning machinery such as scrubbing and buffing equipment or a car park sweeper is an advantage.
- Strong awareness of safe work practices.
- Good physical fitness for normal cleaning duties and walking for long periods.
- Ability to listen carefully, follow direction and work without close supervision.
- Clear verbal and written English communication skills.
- Availability for flexible shifts and public holidays.
- Current legal work rights in Australia.
