Description de l'emploi
About the opportunity
Clarity Health Care is working with the Carer Gateway program to provide brief, targeted mental health support for carers in local communities. The organisation is looking for experienced and compassionate psychologists and mental health clinicians who want to create real impact for people who dedicate much of their time to supporting others.
This is a strong fit for someone looking for contractor work that can add referrals and help grow an existing client load. The position is based in Gladstone, Queensland.
The role is part of a values-led environment that combines clinical quality, adaptability, and genuine human connection.
Who the role supports
The people you will work with are carers: committed individuals who provide time, care, and emotional support to family members or friends facing health-related challenges. Although rewarding, this responsibility can also lead to emotional, physical, and social pressure. Your work will focus on practical, evidence-based therapy that helps carers strengthen coping skills, improve resilience, and restore their own wellbeing.
Role overview
- Provide in-person therapy sessions at Wellways locations or from your own appropriate space in Gladstone.
- Offer clients up to six sessions, with additional sessions available when there is a clinical need.
- Maintain case notes, documentation, and fortnightly reporting on sessions.
- Deliver short-term structured interventions such as CBT, ACT, and solution-focused therapy.
- Manage your own session schedule in coordination with the Clarity team.
- Record clinical notes in Halaxy CRM.
This position suits clinicians who appreciate independence, meaningful work, and flexible arrangements while supporting carers through focused intervention.
About you
You should be a warm and professional clinician who is confident working with people from varied backgrounds, communicates clearly, and keeps accurate digital records. You will need to manage time well, stay aligned with program KPIs, and bring a genuine commitment to making a positive difference within a collaborative setting.
Additional requirements
Applicants must have current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist or Registered Nurse - Mental Health, or AASW membership with Mental Health accreditation highly regarded, or be a qualified counsellor with ACA or PACFA membership.
You must also have, or be willing to obtain, a valid Working With Children Check and a current police check.
What is offered
The organisation offers a culture built on integrity, inclusion, learning, accountability, and respect. It also supports mental health and wellbeing through EAP access, wellness initiatives, and individual wellbeing support via supervision.
The workplace is described as friendly and enjoyable, with bi-monthly social events and a team culture that is relaxed and approachable. There is also a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, along with opportunities to grow within a national organisation.
Administrative systems and support are in place so you can focus on client care, and Halaxy is used as the main system.
Professional development
Employees can access up to $2,000 for professional development and receive two days of professional development leave. The team also takes part in weekly education and case review sessions, including development sessions led by Professor David Castle. The model is highly collaborative, with cross-disciplinary teamwork and a low clinician-to-leader ratio that allows for strong supervision and support.
Additional information
This role is available in Gladstone.
The role is intended for contractors and is designed to support additional referrals and caseload growth.
The number of sessions can extend beyond six when clinically appropriate.
Halaxy is the CRM/platform used for clinical record management.
