Role overview
Westridge Engineering & Consulting Ltd. is hiring a Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) Technician to support engineering and civil design work in a consulting-firm environment in Surrey, British Columbia. This position is based on-site, meaning the work must be carried out at the physical location with no remote option.

Education
A college, CEGEP, or similar non-university diploma or certificate from a program lasting 1 to 2 years is required.
Experience
Applicants should have between 1 year and less than 2 years of relevant experience.
Work setting
This role is in a consulting firm and must be performed on site.
Core responsibilities
- Create engineering drawings and design documents.
- Interpret blueprints to understand project requirements.
- Draft preliminary design concepts and sketches.
- Prepare construction specifications, cost estimates, and material takeoffs.
- Develop written technical specifications.
- Assemble complete drawing packages and supporting documentation.
- Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
Credentials and certifications
Relevant credentials may include AutoCAD Certification, Civil Engineering Technology (CVT), and Drafting Trade Certification.
Specialization
Drafting focus: detailing drafting. Area of specialization: civil engineering.
Computer and software knowledge
Working knowledge of the internet, word processing tools, CAD software, AutoCAD, MS Office, and spreadsheet applications is required.
