About the brewery

Duration Brewing is an independent farmhouse brewery in West Norfolk known for making both contemporary and traditional beers. The team works collaboratively and has built a strong reputation for quality, experimentation, and partnerships with respected breweries in the UK and overseas. Since 2019, the brewery has collected more than 35 awards and has been named among the Top 10 New Brewers globally by RateBeer and the Top 8 UK breweries by The Sunday Times.

The brewery encourages fresh ideas and creative thinking, with beers inspired by its customers and the region’s farming heritage. Its range includes pale ales, IPAs, lagers, stouts, Belgian-style beers, mixed fermentation beers, barrel-aged beers, and modern cask. The site is equipped with a 20HL BrauKon brewhouse, GEA centrifuge, CODI canning line, coolship, foeders, bottling line, and a modern water treatment plant.

About the role

This is a hands-on brewing opportunity for someone with 2 to 3 years of commercial brewing experience who wants to expand their capability across a broad production environment. The position covers recipe development, brewing, cellar work, packaging, and water treatment, with most time spent on the brew floor and some time dedicated to cleaning, administration, and packaging tasks.

You will work closely with the Head Brewer and Production Manager as part of a small, collaborative team. The right person will be organised, self-directed, proactive, and comfortable solving problems independently while keeping communication clear within the team.

A formal brewing qualification is not mandatory, though it would be an advantage. A full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential because the brewery is in a rural location.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out wort production, cellar duties, and packaging work.
• Support record keeping and inventory tracking.
• Handle quality checks, including testing, analysis, and monitoring.
• Assist with the operation of the water treatment plant.
• Help maintain safe, clean, and hygienic working conditions.
• Follow existing standard operating procedures and contribute to improving them.

Required experience and skills

• 2 to 3 years of commercial brewing experience.
• Clear communication skills and effective time management.
• Certified forklift operation.
• Basic computer literacy and a willingness to learn new systems.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and manual handling.

Preferred experience and skills

• Experience with a GEA centrifuge or CODI canning line.
• Background in mechanics or engineering.
• Brewing-related qualification or HACCP knowledge.
• Familiarity with brewery software.
• Interest in helping with events and broader team needs.
• Willingness to mentor others and support continuous improvement.

Working pattern and location

This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week. Working days are mostly Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. The job is based in West Acre, Norfolk.
