Description de l'emploi

Role overview

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is hiring two Band 5 Prosthetists: one permanent post and one 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a strong opportunity to build your career in a specialist prosthetics environment alongside highly experienced clinicians, with time and support provided to help you develop your skills while managing a varied prosthetic caseload.

About the service

West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre is a tertiary prosthetic centre offering a full range of advice and prosthetic rehabilitation for people with upper and lower limb loss, including paediatric services. The centre also serves veterans with an enhanced service for those who have lost a limb while serving their country.

The service operates from West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre, as well as two secondary centres in Wolverhampton and Stoke-on-Trent, and also supports a small number of satellite clinics across the region.

What the role involves

The prosthetist will support the delivery of safe, high-quality care and ensure prosthetic prescriptions for adults and children after limb loss are clinically appropriate and cost-effective. You will provide specialist lifelong prosthetic care to patients with acquired or congenital limb loss, working in a clinical setting as part of a multidisciplinary prosthetic team. The role requires evidence-based practice and a focus on achieving the best possible patient outcomes.

You will also be responsible for managing a prosthetic caseload and working in line with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO) standards and professional guidance.

Application and process notes

This vacancy will close early once enough applications have been received, so interested candidates are encouraged to apply promptly.

If you need support with the application form or guidance on NHS interview processes, you can contact Claire Doherty, Service Clinical Manager, on 07974 913 441.

Please keep checking your Trac account regularly, as it will be used for communication during shortlisting and selection.

All sections of the application form should be completed in full, including complete referee details for the most recent three years. This must include business email addresses, telephone numbers, and postal addresses.
