Role overview
This position is for an experienced SCADA and networking specialist who can support solar operations at a state level. The role focuses on integration, reliable data communication, system support, and coordination with internal teams, vendors, and SCADA solution providers. The position is based in Hyderabad, while the job title references the solar SCADA function in Andhra Pradesh.
What you will do
- Work with internal teams and external partners to connect SCADA platforms with renewable assets such as solar, wind, hydro, and storage systems.
- Coordinate with SCADA solution vendors for implementation of a unified Tier-2 SCADA environment for solar projects.
- Partner with project managers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding of new assets to Tier-2 SCADA.
- Support site teams technically, resolve issues quickly, and carry out corrective actions when needed.
- Create and update system documentation, including operating procedures and troubleshooting reference material.
- Design and execute test plans to verify SCADA performance and reliability.
- Carry out periodic checks and audits to find and fix weaknesses in SCADA infrastructure.
- Help build and maintain reliable IT networking solutions in coordination with the internal IT team.
- Work with IT teams to deploy secure, scalable network architecture for uninterrupted data movement.
- Enable data exchange with forecasting and SCADA vendors using FTP, SFTP, OPC, APIs, and similar methods.
- Align with cross-functional teams on project needs and ensure SCADA specifications are met.
- Keep internal and external stakeholders informed about status updates, issues, and resolutions.
- Coordinate daily with SCADA OEMs to maintain continuous data access.
- Ensure uninterrupted 24x7 data flow from site assets to cloud systems.
- Implement and supervise IT and OT security controls with the internal IT team to protect SCADA systems from cyber threats.
- Stay updated on OT security standards and proactively address vulnerabilities.
- Track industry developments and new technologies to support ongoing improvement in SCADA operations.
- Run proof-of-concept exercises for SCADA-based predictive analytics solutions.

Experience and education
