Role Overview
This opening is for an API Production Executive / Officer based in Hyderabad. The role involves hands-on manufacturing support in an active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) production environment, with responsibility for operating equipment, following batch instructions, maintaining compliance, and ensuring safe and efficient execution of production activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Run and supervise API manufacturing equipment, including reactors, centrifuges, ANFDs, dryers, leaf filters, nutsche filters, sparkler filters, and milling machines.
- Carry out production steps strictly in line with BMRs, SOPs, and GMP expectations.
- Load raw materials, track reaction progress, and take samples as required by the process.
- Control and maintain critical process conditions such as temperature, pressure, vacuum, pH, and agitation.
- Perform filtration, centrifugation, drying, milling, and packing activities as part of the production flow.
- Keep equipment properly cleaned, operated, and maintained for reliable performance.
- Observe SHE requirements at all times while working with hazardous chemicals and solvents.
- Escalate process irregularities, machine failures, and quality concerns to the reporting supervisor.
- Work closely with QC, QA, Warehouse, Engineering, and EHS teams to support smooth plant operations.
- Maintain accurate production records, including BMR entries, logbooks, equipment utilization records, and cleaning documentation.
- Ensure work aligns with cGMP, GDP, and applicable regulatory standards such as USFDA, EU GMP, and WHO GMP.
- Take part in preventive maintenance, calibration, and qualification-related activities.
- Assist with technology transfer, process improvement, and optimization initiatives.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and uphold 5S discipline across the production area.
- Be willing to work in shifts and meet daily output targets without compromising quality or safety.
Required Background and Skills
- Practical understanding of API manufacturing operations.
- Experience working with reactors, centrifuges, ANFD, dryers, Nutsche filters, leaf filters, sparkler filters, and milling equipment.
- Working knowledge of BMR, SOPs, GMP, cGMP, GDP, and EHS requirements.
- Ability to diagnose issues and resolve production-related problems effectively.
- Comfort with rotational shift schedules.
- Good collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional coordination.
- Basic understanding of chemical reactions, solvents, and process control parameters.
Eligibility
Candidates with a Diploma in Chemical Engineering, B.Tech/B.E. in Chemical Engineering, or B.Sc. in Chemistry can apply.
Preferred Experience
The preferred background is 2 to 7 years of experience in API production or bulk drug manufacturing.
