Role overview
This fixed-term opportunity runs for 12 months and is based in Auckland. The role sits within a large, regulated banking environment and focuses on turning complex data into practical insights that support business performance, pricing decisions, and portfolio management.
As an Analytics and Insights Specialist, you will create scalable data assets that give detailed visibility across the product set and customer lifecycle. You’ll work with large and intricate datasets, shape dependable data solutions, and convert business needs into structured data transformations that are ready for analytics at scale.
The position is highly hands-on and suits someone who enjoys solving challenging data problems, improving data processing, and developing reusable, high-quality data assets.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build scalable data structures and assets that support granular reporting and analysis across the product portfolio and customer journey.
- Work through large, complex datasets to produce reliable data solutions for performance analysis, pricing, and portfolio decisions.
- Translate business needs into efficient data transformations and implementation-ready outputs.
- Develop reporting and insight outputs that help teams make informed decisions.
- Improve data processing approaches so solutions remain robust, reusable, and fit for downstream analytics.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver effective outcomes.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience using SAS and SQL to produce business insights.
- Background in working with complex data and delivering strong reporting in a large, complex organisation.
- Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience creating insights and reporting outputs.
- Strong record of turning business requirements into data solutions from analysis through delivery and implementation.
- Working knowledge of financial services, including common banking metrics and performance measures.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present insights to different audiences.
