Role Overview

Platform Distribution Strategy supports the Media Networks, Direct-to-Consumer, and Digital Transactional & Home Entertainment businesses by using strategic thinking and analysis to improve distribution outcomes. The Analyst, Business Strategy will help shape sales approaches, assess deal proposals, and build negotiation strategies for content distribution across direct-to-consumer services, linear networks, digital platforms, and MVPD partners. The role also contributes to longer-term strategic projects involving new opportunities, market shifts, and broader business direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in negotiations with major distribution partners by preparing proposals, term sheets, and financial models that support a large-scale business.
  • Partner with sales teams on distribution strategy for pay TV, linear networks, and direct-to-consumer offerings across the full Walt Disney Company content portfolio, including sports and entertainment.
  • Create analyses for network or service distribution opportunities and monitor business drivers, market trends, emerging business models, and strategic developments.
  • Contribute as a collaborative team member while supporting both immediate skill growth and long-term professional development in an inclusive environment.
  • Build a strong understanding of the content distribution landscape and the direct-to-consumer and MVPD markets, then share informed views on potential business impacts across the company.
  • Develop working relationships with teams across Disney Platform Distribution and related functions such as international business, Legal, Finance, Network Groups, Research, Programming, and other segments to support analysis and deal execution.

Required Background

  • At least 1 year of professional experience in strategy, finance, or business development.
  • Solid knowledge of the media industry, including competitors and current market trends.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities, along with quantitative and financial modeling skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capability to juggle multiple priorities and perform well in a fast-paced work setting.
  • BS or BA degree.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in investment banking, management consulting, or strategy within a media or technology company.
  • Experience working in media, technology, or subscription-based business models.
  • Exposure to contract review and interpretation.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a base salary range of $83,200 to $111,500 per year in New York, NY. Final compensation may vary based on internal equity, geographic region, relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may also be included, along with medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the level and nature of the position.
