About the Company
This role sits within a retail environment focused on store performance, customer service, and day-to-day operational support.
Position Overview
The 3rd Key position is responsible for helping drive sales, maintaining store standards, supporting expense control, and assisting with supervision of associates. The role requires strong attention to detail, reliable store operations support, and a hands-on approach to customer-facing work.
Sales Support and Store Presentation
- Contribute to sales growth by delivering strong customer service.
- Work toward or beyond company targets for individual performance metrics.
- Help assess associate sales results in a consistent and documented way, offering feedback on strengths and areas for improvement while staying aligned with company goals.
- Follow visual merchandising standards, including product presentation, signage, and store cleanliness.
- Maintain a polished, professional appearance in line with dress code expectations.
Expense Control and Store Operations
- Help safeguard company property in accordance with retail policies.
- Assist with store scheduling to support proper coverage while staying within wage-control guidelines.
- Handle inventory tasks according to policy, including receiving, transfers, price updates, and product counts.
- Complete documentation and recordkeeping in compliance with company rules and applicable state and federal requirements.
- Open and close the store when needed, following the operations manual.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and operating standards at all times.
Associate Supervision and Team Support
- Take part in training programs and follow up on assigned sales and task goals.
- Support recruiting and training efforts for store staff on procedures and daily operations.
- Encourage team compliance with policies related to inventory, cash, and company assets.
- Step in to perform subordinate duties when needed.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and management across all levels.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Working Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus at least one year of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to generate sales while reducing loss.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to speak clearly and professionally.
- Comfort using a computer and related software applications.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work with hands overhead.
- Standing for up to the full work shift is required.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
