Role overview
Nextcloud is seeking a talented Web Designer who combines creative design ability with technical strength and SEO knowledge. The goal of the role is to shape a polished, conversion-focused web experience for the Nextcloud ecosystem, improve the user journey, and present complex products in a clear and engaging way while supporting the company’s mission and standards.
Key responsibilities
- Build attractive, responsive page layouts and landing pages for the website.
- Develop UI and UX concepts that support smooth navigation and user journeys on all screen sizes.
- Improve site structure, content organization, and technical setup to strengthen SEO performance.
- Track website metrics and work on improvements in speed, accessibility, and conversions.
- Deliver design solutions that fit Nextcloud templates, theme systems, and integrations.
- Keep current with web design best practices, usability standards, and SEO trends.
- Work closely with different teams to keep branding and visuals consistent.
- Create graphics, icons, and other visual assets for interface components and web pages.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Web Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 4 years of professional experience in web design, UI/UX, or a similar position.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience as a Web Designer or UI/UX Designer.
- Strong command of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design frameworks.
- Good understanding of SEO basics, technical SEO, and on-page optimization.
- Experience using privacy-conscious behavioral analytics approaches to support data-informed journey improvements.
- Working knowledge of Adobe design tools.
- Strong visual taste with attention to typography and current design direction.
- A results-oriented mindset and a commitment to ongoing improvement.
- Clear communication skills and strong problem-solving ability.
