Role overview
Ladgov Corporation is seeking a part-time Technology Support Specialist for an on-site assignment at Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany. The position supports day-to-day IT operations, systems reliability, and technology needs across hardware, software, networking, and classroom environments.
Work schedule and hours
The expected commitment is 8 to 20 hours each week, with a maximum of 1,040 hours per year. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 0800 to 1600.
Core duties
- Assist with troubleshooting and support for computers, servers, peripherals, and classroom technology.
- Administer Windows, Windows Server, Hyper-V, and Linux-based systems.
- Support enterprise Wi-Fi and network infrastructure, including Ubiquiti equipment.
- Deploy new hardware and software solutions and help carry out system upgrades.
- Maintain data backup processes, strengthen system security, and ensure compliance with DoD and Air Force requirements.
- Diagnose and resolve IT issues, including emergency response within two hours when needed.
- Keep technical documentation current, including system diagrams and equipment records.
- Protect government property and help maintain the security of facilities and equipment.
- Provide the Education Service Officer with input on technology improvements and purchasing needs.
Minimum qualifications
Applicants should bring at least five years of experience supporting hardware and software in a networked enterprise setting. Hands-on experience is expected in Windows and Windows Server administration, Hyper-V virtualization, Linux deployment and administration, enterprise Wi-Fi management, and compliance with DoD/Air Force cybersecurity rules. A current CompTIA Security+ certification is required, along with the ability to provide three professional references. Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication abilities are also necessary.
