The role sits within a fast-moving managed services setting where you will support complex, multi-tenant IT environments for a varied client portfolio.
You will serve as a senior escalation contact for difficult technical issues involving servers, networks, endpoints, and cloud platforms, with a focus on fast investigation and resolution. The position calls for deep technical knowledge, strong client communication, and close collaboration with internal engineering teams. It is a hands-on position with broad exposure to Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and security tooling, and it suits someone who enjoys solving infrastructure problems in a service-oriented environment.
Key accountabilities
- Take ownership of escalated issues across servers, networks, endpoints, and cloud systems, and work them through to timely resolution.
- Investigate complex infrastructure incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective fixes.
- Keep clients informed with clear, professional updates while setting expectations throughout the support process.
- Administer and support Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Exchange, and Intune environments.
- Diagnose network issues involving DNS, DHCP, VLANs, NAT, and VPN setup or connectivity.
- Use best practices for endpoint protection, backups, disaster recovery, and patching.
- Leverage scripting and automation, especially PowerShell, to streamline operations and speed up resolution.
- Record troubleshooting steps and outcomes, contribute to internal documentation, and help strengthen service processes.
- Support junior engineers as a mentor and escalation resource, and partner with leadership on operational improvements.
Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration, ideally in an MSP or enterprise setting.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Solid understanding of networking basics, including Layer 2/3 concepts, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and VPNs.
- Exposure to endpoint security platforms, backup tools, and patch management systems.
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell scripting and automation workflows.
- Good incident handling, troubleshooting, and change management capability.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills with confidence in client-facing conversations.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and stay effective in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or ITIL are beneficial.
Benefits
- Pay that is competitive and aligned with experience.
- 100% remote work within the United States.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
- Paid leave, holidays, and flexible time-off arrangements.
- Support for professional learning and certifications.
- Access to a broad mix of enterprise and cloud technologies.
- Opportunities for career progression in a rapidly growing technical organization.
- A collaborative engineering culture that encourages learning and knowledge sharing.
