About Fluo
FluoMoney is a student-focused app that brings together the essentials students need while settling into a new city. It offers a multi-currency wallet, a physical card, affordable money transfers, a rewards program called FluoCoins, and support around housing, careers, and community so students can manage money and everyday life more easily.
Role Overview
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will contribute to the AI and engineering backbone that powers Fluo’s product experience and internal tools. Your work will span machine learning systems, data pipelines, backend services, and scalable infrastructure for intelligent financial and student-oriented features.
What You’ll Do
- Create and enhance AI-based product features such as smart assistants, automated workflows, and recommendation engines.
- Develop, improve, and support machine learning pipelines, data flow processes, and model integration layers.
- Use AI/ML tools and APIs to embed large language models, agents, and related AI services into Fluo’s products.
- Architect dependable infrastructure for AI workloads, including cloud deployment, release pipelines, and observability.
- Build backend services and APIs that enable AI functions, data handling, and core platform features.
- Work with databases, data structures, and analytics workflows to power machine learning outputs and insights.
Tech Stack and Tools
The role involves working with Python, machine learning frameworks, AI APIs, LLMs, and AI agents, along with model integration, prompt tuning, and evaluation processes. You’ll also use data automation and processing pipelines, Node.js, NestJS, REST and GraphQL APIs, distributed system patterns, PostgreSQL, Supabase, Firebase, Docker, serverless platforms, CI/CD, Terraform, AWS, Azure, Vercel, payment integrations, and authentication systems. Exposure to blockchain and cryptocurrency concepts is considered a bonus.
Location and Work Style
This position is based in San Francisco, CA, and follows a hybrid arrangement with remote flexibility.
