Software Engineer - Backend

About the Role

ASUS is hiring a backend software engineer for its AICS team, which builds a SaaS platform aimed at solving practical challenges in the healthcare sector. The role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying distributed systems on public cloud infrastructure. The team encourages innovation from the ground up and supports ongoing learning and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver on-premise and cloud-native systems with strong attention to scalability and security.
• Develop dependable backend services that can handle high availability requirements, along with reusable engineering frameworks.
• Design, build, and improve data platform components and solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional partners in an agile sprint environment.
• Track system behavior continuously and make improvements to performance and reliability.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of hands-on backend development experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, good problem-solving skills, and familiarity with peer code reviews for maintaining code quality.
• Experience architecting, building, and operating microservices in a polyglot setup using technologies such as TypeScript, Node.js, Python, and FastAPI.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as Azure, GCP, or AWS.

Additional Information

This position is based in Changi, East Region, Singapore and is a full-time, onsite role.
