Role Overview
Al Sahraa Group is hiring a Shovel Operator in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The position offers a salary of 3300 AED and follows a 90/30 rotation schedule.
Core Duties
- Handle hydraulic and mechanical shovels to dig, move, and load materials onto trucks or into designated stockpiles.
- Carry out checks before each shift and complete routine upkeep so the equipment stays in working condition.
- Work in line with safety procedures and company rules to maintain a secure job site.
- Coordinate with supervisors and fellow crew members to keep work activities running smoothly.
- Maintain clear logs for excavated and loaded materials, along with any maintenance or repair activities completed on the machine.
- Escalate equipment issues or unsafe site conditions to the supervisor without delay.
- Operate in compliance with environmental standards and site-specific guidelines.
- Keep the work area tidy and well organized.
- Take on additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of shovel operating experience in oil and gas or construction environments.
- Must hold a valid driving licence with a clean driving history.
- Good understanding of heavy equipment servicing and basic repair practices.
- Ability to review equipment manuals and follow work instructions.
- Strong communication abilities and a team-oriented approach.
- Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
