Role overview
In this position, you help keep ambulance response units fully prepared for emergency use. The work calls for strong organization, a careful approach, and close attention to detail so the vehicle, cab, patient compartment, and onboard equipment are cleaned, checked, and ready whenever EMS staff need them.
You will use electronic tools and checklists to complete vehicle and equipment inspections, replace items that have expired, restock supplies, and make sure all necessary materials are available. The role also includes moving ambulances within the assigned station area and in nearby locations as needed.
Although the scheduled shift length is 12.25 hours, the paid working time is 11.08 hours because an unpaid lunch break is included.
Job duties
As a Service Worker II, you will prepare supplies, clean and disinfect instruments and specialty equipment for immediate reuse, and keep patient care areas properly stocked. You may also transport patients, equipment, laboratory specimens, blood and blood products, and patient records. In addition, you will complete equipment quality checks, log maintenance information, and flag any supply or safety issues for the Unit Manager or other leaders.

Basic computer ability is necessary for completing electronic checklists and forms. You must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and follow oral and written instructions in English, and you should be capable of working with limited supervision.
Physical demands include lifting up to 80 pounds, climbing into and out of the ambulance cab and patient compartment, standing and walking for most of the shift, and bending, crouching, and twisting without restriction. Completing ARA Orientation is preferred.
