Senior IBM App Connect Enterprise Developer

Job Summary

We are looking for a seasoned Senior IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) Developer with deep experience in enterprise integration, API governance, middleware engineering, and messaging platforms. The role focuses on creating, deploying, and fine-tuning integration flows across business systems using IBM App Connect Enterprise and IBM MQ, with an emphasis on security, scalability, and performance to support broader digital transformation goals.

You should bring strong hands-on knowledge of APIs, microservices, transformation logic, messaging patterns, and middleware design, together with practical exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve enterprise integration flows in IBM App Connect Enterprise.
• Create connections between applications, databases, and external systems.
• Work with JSON, XML, REST APIs, SOAP services, and IBM MQ to enable dependable and secure data movement across platforms.
• Partner with business analysts and solution architects to convert business needs into technical integration designs.
• Create integration components that are reusable, scalable, and easy to support.
• Ensure all solutions follow enterprise architecture standards and established best practices.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs, SOAP web services, and microservices integrations.
• Support API lifecycle management and use IBM API Connect for governance and security.
• Design asynchronous messaging solutions with IBM MQ, including queue, channel, and routing configuration.
• Deliver reliable message handling with strong fault tolerance.
• Perform data transformation and mapping across formats such as XML, JSON, DFDL, CSV, MRM, ISO8583, and XMLNSC.
• Carry out schema design, data validation, mapping, and transformation tasks.
• Execute unit, integration, regression, and performance testing using tools such as SoapUI and Postman.
• Coordinate with QA teams to confirm solution quality and stability.
• Manage deployments across development, QA, and production environments.
• Monitor integration flows, investigate issues, and tune performance to keep systems stable.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git, following DevOps practices for automated builds and deployments.
• Maintain technical documentation for integration flows, APIs, message mappings, and deployment steps.
• Ensure work complies with security controls and internal governance requirements.
• Work closely with business users, architects, operations teams, and external consultants.
• Provide technical direction, uphold coding standards, and support SDLC governance and delivery tracking.

Qualifications

Experience

Applicants should have at least 8 to 10+ years of practical experience in enterprise integration, IBM ACE, IBM MQ, API management, and middleware development.

Additional Information

This position involves work across development, QA, and production environments, plus coordination with cross-functional stakeholders and external consultants. Strong documentation discipline, security awareness, and adherence to internal governance are essential. The role also includes support for SDLC controls and project delivery tracking.
