Role Overview
Malhotra Book Depot, part of MBD Group, is looking for a Sales Executive to drive territory-based sales, strengthen customer relationships, and promote its publications across education-focused markets in Salem.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture relationships with both prospective and existing customers within allocated regions.
- Deliver face-to-face sales pitches and product walkthroughs to interested buyers.
- Represent the company at book fairs, conferences, and industry events to showcase publications and build contacts.
- Consistently work toward or surpass sales goals for the assigned territory.
- Identify new prospects and steadily grow the customer base.
- Handle client queries, share product details, and resolve issues to ensure strong customer support.
- Keep track of market movement, publishing updates, and newly released titles to support effective selling.
- Prepare and share weekly and monthly sales updates with the reporting manager.
- Work closely with fellow sales team members and marketing staff on sales plans and promotional content.
- Take part in training sessions to improve sales capability and product understanding.
- Use CRM tools effectively for lead tracking and report generation.
- Be comfortable using digital learning resources and education technology platforms.
Candidate Profile
- Graduate or MBA candidates are preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree or MBA is required.
- Applicants may be freshers or professionals with 2 to 3 years of sales experience.
- Prior sales exposure in education, edtech, or publishing is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are essential.
- Good planning, organization, and time management skills are important.
- The role requires someone who can work independently as well as collaborate in a team.
- Awareness of publishing and EdTech trends will be considered a plus.
- Candidates should be ready for extensive travel and flexible working hours.
Additional Information
This is a field-oriented sales role based in Salem, India. The compensation offered is INR 1,00,000 to 4,00,000 per year. The position involves active territory management, customer engagement, and promotion of educational publications.
