Role overview
Port is looking for a Sales Development Representative focused on the APJ region to join its go-to-market function during a pivotal stage of growth. The position is based in Sydney and is primarily remote, while supporting pipeline creation across Asia-Pacific and Japan as the company grows from the leading Internal Developer Portal into the first Agentic Engineering Platform.
In this role, you will speak with platform engineering, DevOps, and engineering leaders across APJ, running targeted outbound campaigns and qualifying opportunities with technically advanced buyers. You will often be the first Port contact for prospects in the region and will help shape the company’s market presence and message across APJ. This opportunity suits someone who is comfortable selling technical SaaS solutions, working across time zones, and having credible conversations with senior engineering stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Drive both outbound and inbound prospecting activity across APJ markets, including Australia, New Zealand, and wider Asia-Pacific regions
- Run discovery conversations with leaders in platform engineering, DevOps, and engineering management
- Identify and rank high-value accounts and buyer profiles in APJ
- Execute personalized outreach across email, LinkedIn, and phone, tailored to local regional audiences
- Assess inbound and outbound leads and convert qualified interest into sales-ready opportunities
- Use AI-based sales tools to make outreach more relevant and effective
- Work with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to keep APJ messaging aligned
- Keep CRM records, activity logs, notes, and reporting up to date in HubSpot
- Assist with regional campaigns, virtual events, and occasional in-person support when required
Requirements
- Between 1 and 3 years of experience in SaaS sales, business development, or a similar function
- Prior experience selling into APJ or prospecting within the region is an advantage
- Ability to speak confidently about technical topics such as platform engineering, DevOps processes, or AI-powered systems
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding pipeline generation goals
- Strong written communication and verbal presentation skills
- Hands-on experience with CRM tools, with HubSpot considered a plus
- Well organized, self-motivated, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
