About the company

Moove is creating a large-scale mobility ecosystem supported by advanced technology. Its core Drive-to-Own model helps people access vehicle ownership through a revenue-linked financing approach, opening opportunities for mobility entrepreneurs who are often underserved.

The company’s expansion has been accelerated by its global partnership with Uber and backing from major investors and lenders such as Uber, Mubadala, BlackRock, MUFG, and others. Moove now operates in 19 cities across 6 continents, including Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and the Middle East, and continues to grow through acquisitions and partnerships with companies such as Waymo and Uber. Its mission is to make mobility safer, more efficient, and more accessible while also creating economic opportunities and building skills across the mobility sector.

Role overview

In this position, you will own safety oversight for Moove AV’s autonomous vehicle operations in Dubai. You will be responsible for making risks visible, ensuring they are understood across the business, and taking prompt action to address them. The role involves building and maintaining safety programmes within a global framework in a fast-moving autonomous mobility environment.

This is a high-responsibility safety role covering assurance, incident investigation, regulatory adherence, and vendor coordination. You will work with the General Manager and cross-functional teams to monitor safety outcomes, strengthen predictive risk controls, and uphold strong operational standards across Dubai locations. Because the operation runs around the clock, this role requires full 24/7 availability and the ability to handle several urgent situations at once.

Key responsibilities

You will track safety performance, support fleet readiness, manage site-level safety programmes, lead incident investigations, and work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain strong safety standards.

Safety assurance and performance monitoring

  • Review safety KPIs, trends, interventions, and unusual patterns to support safety-case validation and recommend controls or mitigations to the relevant lead.
  • Confirm that the fleet is ready for deployment by carrying out detailed readiness checks and assessing site and fleet performance.
  • Support predictive maintenance efforts, oversee upgrades, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare timely, useful safety reports for stakeholders and keep performance tracking up to date.

Site safety programmes

  • Run site-level safety initiatives, including weekly Safety Stand-Downs and Safety Concern Reporting activities.
  • Close out non-conformance findings raised through audits, reports, or incident reviews.
  • Facilitate regular tabletop exercises with vendors to strengthen incident-response preparedness.
  • Design and manage local safety programmes by adapting global standards to Dubai operations.

Incident investigation and response

  • Investigate safety incidents, near misses, and anomalies, then determine root causes and define corrective actions.
  • Act as the on-call safety lead for around-the-clock incident response across Dubai operations.
  • Maintain thorough, audit-ready records of safety events, investigations, and remediation steps.

Cross-functional and vendor collaboration

  • Work with the General Manager to shape and execute plans that improve fleet health and safety.
  • Develop strong working relationships with external vendors and partners to sustain high safety standards.
  • Partner with Fleet Operations, Field Operations, Training, and the Global Safety Team to embed safety practices across functions.
  • Build effective relationships with operations, security, facilities, and central operations teams.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has 3–7 years of experience in transportation safety, logistics, fleet operations, or a related safety discipline. A bachelor’s degree in Safety Science, Safety Risk Management, Logistics, Transportation, or a similar field is preferred, although equivalent experience may also be accepted.

You should have a strong understanding of UAE transport rules, RTA expectations, and relevant international safety standards. Familiarity with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA frameworks will be an advantage. Certifications such as OSHA 500/501 or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) are preferred.

We are looking for someone with a solid grasp of Kaizen and continuous improvement methods, strong influencing skills, analytical ability, and working knowledge of Google Workspace and spreadsheet-based data management. Excellent written and verbal communication is essential, especially when dealing with executives, regulators, and frontline teams.

Success in this role also requires adaptability, the ability to respond quickly to multiple urgent situations in a high-pressure environment, self-motivation, sound judgement, and full availability for a 24/7 operation. Fluency in English is required, and Arabic is a strong plus.

Team and reporting line

You will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with the Operations team.

About the team

The team is collaborative, upbeat, curious, and highly engaged. They value quick thinking, practical execution, and a sense of humour, and are looking for people who share that mindset while helping advance the mission of making vehicle ownership and financial freedom more accessible.
