About the role
Woolworths Group is looking for a Retail Assistant to join the checkouts team in Wellington. In this role, you’ll help deliver smooth, accurate, and friendly checkout service while supporting a positive shopping experience for customers.
Roster
This position follows the below roster:
- Tuesday: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Wednesday: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Thursday: 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- Friday: 2:30 PM to 10:00 PM
- Saturday: 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
What you’ll do
- Scan and pack purchases accurately, keep queues moving, and process refunds with courtesy and care.
- Provide helpful, positive interactions and assist customers with questions or concerns, escalating issues where needed.
- Support cash office tasks such as banking, reconciliations, and investigating discrepancies.
- Keep the checkout and store environment tidy, organised, safe, and compliant with uniform and workplace standards.
- Share ideas and feedback that can improve service and enhance the overall customer journey.
What you’ll need
- Strong customer service skills with a warm, approachable, and helpful manner.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy environment.
- Confidence handling cash and carrying out basic cash-related tasks.
- Clear communication skills for dealing with customers and collaborating with teammates.
- A professional, values-led approach with good judgment and respect for company policies.
