Role overview

The QA Technician will handle calibration work for measuring equipment, maintain accurate records, support compliance activities, and assist with audits and continuous improvement efforts tied to the calibration system.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out equipment calibrations in a safe, precise, and timely way.
  • Maintain calibration logs and records for all measuring tools, whether calibrated internally or by outside vendors.
  • Create and revise calibration instructions for both newly introduced and existing equipment.
  • Secure the required approvals for calibration instructions and keep document revisions up to date.
  • Coordinate calibration work with external labs and suppliers.
  • Work in line with all applicable Test Procedures and plant calibration guidelines.
  • Inform supervisors and equipment users when instruments are overdue for calibration or found out of tolerance.
  • Apply calibration labels to measuring equipment according to procedure.
  • Train calibration staff using the relevant Test Procedures.
  • Represent the calibration function in related discussions and operational activities.
  • Contribute to or lead improvement initiatives connected to calibration processes.
  • Raise calibration-related concerns quickly to the Calibration Engineer.
  • Assist the QA Engineer during audits such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, AS9100D, and customer audits involving calibration systems.

Requirements

  • Education should be at O Level, NITEC, or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in calibration work is required.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills are needed.
  • Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 is expected.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 will be an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with on-site calibration of measuring equipment in optical and mechanical environments, including both cleanroom and non-cleanroom settings.
  • Must be disciplined in following strict SOPs, maintaining thorough documentation, adapting to changing needs, and communicating technical calibration data clearly.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in precision measurement within ISO 17025 laboratories, ISO Class 7 cleanrooms, and ESD-safe electronics production environments.
