Role overview
Elior is hiring a Payroll Specialist based at its Macclesfield office. The role follows a hybrid working arrangement after the initial training period. You will be responsible for running payroll accurately and on schedule, keeping payroll information up to date, and supporting HR and finance teams with compliance and reporting tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Run payroll processes accurately and within deadlines, covering salaries, bonuses, deductions, and any required amendments.
- Keep payroll records current, including new joiners, departures, and changes to employee information.
- Handle payroll enquiries from employees and managers in a professional and timely manner.
- Make sure payroll activity follows legal obligations such as tax, National Insurance, and pension rules.
- Prepare payroll reports and support month-end and year-end payroll work.
- Work with payroll vendors, pension administrators, and other external contacts when needed.
- Assist with payroll audits and contribute to process improvements.
- Protect confidential information and maintain data security in line with GDPR and company procedures.
Working pattern
This position is Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with hybrid working after training.
What you will bring
- Hands-on experience in payroll processing or payroll administration.
- Working knowledge of payroll law, taxation, and pension requirements.
- Comfort using payroll systems such as ADP, Sage, or Workday, along with Microsoft Excel.
- High accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Good planning and time management skills to handle strict deadlines.
- Clear communication skills for confidential matters and employee support.
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a wider team.
- A payroll qualification such as CIPP would be an advantage, though it is not mandatory.
