Role overview

This is a full-time, on-site Payroll Officer position based in Nagpur. The role is focused on managing payroll operations from start to finish, ensuring salaries are processed correctly, statutory obligations are met, and payroll data is maintained accurately. The position also requires close coordination with HR and Finance for budgeting, audits, reporting, and process improvements.

Position details

Designation: Payroll Officer - HR

Location: Nagpur, Maharashtra

Qualification: Any graduate with an MBA in HR, MIRPM, or MLS

Experience: 4 to 10 years in payroll processing

Preference: Candidates with ERP software experience and those from the manufacturing sector will be given preference

Key responsibilities

• Handle salary processing in ERP for employees, contractors, consultants, and interns.
• Verify contractor attendance and complete contractor salary calculations.
• Manage shift adjustments, shift allocation, and monthly salary checks with manager approval.
• Resolve punching and attendance-related issues.
• Generate and obtain approval for PF, ESIC, and LWF challans for the company.
• Verify new joiner records, including PF and ESIC numbers, and update rate master details.
• Maintain ERP records for attendance, deputation, gate pass, tour, missed punch, overtime, compensatory off, late coming, early going, leave, ESIC leave, and related entries.
• Manage time office entries and overall attendance administration.
• Prepare physical attendance records for monthly incentive processing.
• Resolve salary disputes in a timely manner.
• Prepare muster roll documentation for submission to the ESIC office.
• Upload salary increment rates into ERP and calculate increment arrears.
• Carry out all payroll-related activities within ERP.

Required profile

• Strong hands-on experience in payroll processing and salary administration.
• Working knowledge of statutory payroll compliance, including PF, ESIC, and LWF.
• Ability to manage attendance systems, time office entries, and payroll inputs accurately.
• Experience in ERP-based payroll operations is highly desirable.
• Prior exposure to manufacturing payroll environments will be an advantage.
• Good coordination skills for working with HR, Finance, and operations teams.
• Ability to handle payroll queries and disputes professionally.
