Role overview
Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Pathology Receptionist to support its phlebotomy and pathology services at Basingstoke Hospital. The role focuses on helping patients, visitors, and couriers, while delivering a high standard of customer care at the department front desk.
Key duties
- Handle incoming phone calls for appointments and general enquiries so patients can access the phlebotomy service smoothly.
- Welcome patients, visitors, and couriers arriving at the Pathology Department, particularly those coming for blood tests.
- Direct people to the right place and resolve basic issues to maintain a positive experience.
- Coordinate courier arrivals, pickups, and deliveries by notifying the appropriate pathology team members.
- Take part in booking phone appointments for patients.
- Support visitors, couriers, and patients who come into the department.
- Attend admin team meetings and contribute ideas that help improve the service.
Working pattern
Applicants need to be available to work Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 17:00.
