Painter

Overview

Rooster Building Group is hiring a painter for full-time work in Calgary, Alberta. This position is performed entirely at the job site; remote work is not available.

Language

English is required for this role.

Education

A secondary school graduation certificate is needed.

Experience

No prior experience is required, as training will be provided.

Work Environment

The job may involve outdoor work, underground areas, work at heights, and exposure to odours. Assignments can take place at multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prepare, and sand surfaces before painting.
• Fix cracks, holes, and other surface imperfections.
• Blend paint to achieve the required colour and finish.
• Guide customers on colour choices and wall covering options.
• Apply paint, wallpaper, and other finishing materials to interior and exterior surfaces.
• Work out material needs and cost estimates.

Additional Information

A valid driver’s licence is required for transportation and travel.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The position calls for careful attention to detail, the ability to tell colours apart, frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling, and the capacity to handle physically demanding tasks.

Employees may need to lift and carry items weighing up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
