Descripción del trabajo
Role overview
This position supports timber operations by helping prepare sale proposals for designated forest products, including operational plans. It also involves putting forestry practices, policies, and procedures into action for the harvesting and marketing of designated forest products.
Key duties
The role includes assisting with the administration of the Forestry Act 1959 and any other applicable legislation and regulations as they relate to forestry activities. You will guide and monitor operational programs so they are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and with strong environmental care, while also overseeing field harvesting to confirm compliance with relevant codes, systems, procedures, and other requirements.
You will help manage the risks tied to harvesting and marketing native timber and forest products, including forest protection, and provide timely input on policy and estate management matters when needed.
Stakeholder engagement
The coordinator will represent Forestry in discussions and negotiations with industry representatives, clients, lessees, landowners, community groups, and other stakeholders connected to forest product sales.
Compliance and reporting
The role requires maintaining high standards in environmental performance, risk management, ethical conduct, and workplace health and safety across native timber and forest operations. It also contributes to monitoring and audit activities for forest harvesting operations and supports business objectives by analysing spatial information.
