About the Role
Join the LEGO Group as a Mechanical Engineer focused on mould development, where you will help engineer precision injection moulds that support the creation of the brand’s iconic bricks. This role sits within Mould Development Reorder (MDR), part of Mould Engineering under the Element & Mould Engineering organization in the Engineering & Quality function within Operations.
MDR is responsible for delivering high-quality reorder mould solutions across LEGO mould platforms worldwide, while maintaining strong productivity in a fast-moving environment that values flexibility. The team also contributes to broader business improvements by working cross-functionally and developing advanced mould solutions.
Core Responsibilities
- Apply the appropriate level of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to reorder moulds within LEGO Moulding Technology.
- Ensure technical choices align with established engineering standards.
- Move mould solutions toward shared internal platforms.
- Encourage simpler, better ways of working and continuous improvement within Mould Development.
- Build and circulate technical expertise in mould development methods and best practices.
- Support a positive team environment grounded in collaboration, LEAN thinking, and productivity.
Requirements
Education and Experience
- A diploma or degree in Mechanical, Plastic, or Tooling-related studies.
- At least 3 years of experience in the mould and moulding-related industry.
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Foundational understanding of injection mould design, manufacturing techniques, moulding processes, and moulding equipment.
- Good knowledge of plastic materials and how they behave.
- Hands-on experience with a 3D CAD system; NX is preferred.
Soft Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Experience managing a large number of stakeholders.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
Methodologies and Tools
- Basic understanding of process improvement approaches such as Six Sigma, Lean, Agile, and similar methods.
Additional Details
- Knowledge of Teamcenter and SAP is an advantage.
- The role may require travel of up to 5%.
