Role overview

This position leads manufacturing activities across one or more production areas to support output targets, quality standards, and cost goals. The role is responsible for planning production priorities, coordinating resources, managing budgets, and guiding teams to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple production cells with emphasis on operational excellence, safety, resource planning, productivity, yield improvement, 5S discipline, on-time delivery, and product quality.
  • Partner with supervisors to identify issues, resolve them, and keep budgets, schedules, and performance expectations on track.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance in manufacturing methods and processes, while ensuring work-in-progress and shop-floor items are properly controlled, including MR issuance.
  • Estimate workforce needs, allocate tasks, and organize work using a push-pull approach to meet business objectives.
  • Lead staffing, training, and performance reviews to strengthen employee capability and support career development through regular review cycles.
  • Set operating goals and weekly production plans, and coordinate with supervisors to address variances and execution gaps.
  • Resolve quality and workmanship concerns using poka-yoke or engineering-based solutions wherever possible.
  • Build production capacity plans that can support increases in customer demand.

Continuous improvement and working knowledge

  • Take part in and promote continuous improvement initiatives across production cells and the wider plant to reduce waste, lower costs, minimize errors, and improve productivity, safety, and quality.
  • Apply strong understanding of production principles, process fundamentals, and manufacturing operations.
  • Work effectively within company policies, practices, and procedures in a cross-functional environment.

Requirements

  • A degree in Engineering or Manufacturing Technology is required.
  • At least 8 years of manufacturing experience at a management level.
  • Must be able to make independent, well-reasoned decisions and handle daily operational issues with initiative.
  • Prior semiconductor manufacturing experience is essential, including leading manufacturing teams of more than 180 headcount across levels.
  • Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of using sound judgment and working independently.
  • Demonstrated people management skills, including coaching, evaluating, and motivating employees.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with confident presentation ability.
