Role Overview

This position involves hands-on support within the kitchen environment, with a strong focus on cleanliness, hygiene, and general upkeep. The role is physically active and includes helping with deliveries, maintaining equipment, and supporting the kitchen team with basic preparation and cooking tasks.

Key Duties

• Receive deliveries, place items away correctly, and compare them against invoices to confirm the order is accurate.
• Follow all hygiene rules and site standards at all times.
• Clean kitchen equipment in accordance with health and safety requirements.
• Wash floors every day and whenever additional cleaning is needed.
• Clean heavy equipment used by production staff.
• Use floor-washing machines regularly as part of the cleaning routine.
• Assist with a small amount of food preparation.
• Carry out a limited amount of cooking as required.
• Keep the kitchen consistently clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety expectations.

Experience and Compliance

An up-to-date Food Hygiene certificate is required. Previous experience within the NHS is preferred, and experience in a similar or related role would also be beneficial.
