About Sphere Labs

Sphere Labs is creating modern, compliance-first infrastructure for cross-border payments and settlement. Rather than layering rules onto outdated systems, the company is designing the next generation of money movement from the ground up for businesses and regulated institutions. Its approach is built in collaboration with banks, licensed entities, regulators, and the jurisdictions that shape global financial flows.

The company is supported by Coinbase, Kraken, The Chernin Group, Jump Trading, Hudson River Trading, and major sovereign affiliates. Sphere Labs is a fully remote, global team working at a time when stablecoins are moving into mainstream finance and institutions are looking for modern rails. The team values self-starters who communicate well, think systematically, and can turn a blank page into a working product.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with the frontend team to create reusable components and polished design features that form the foundation for internal tools, customer applications, public pages, guides, and documentation.
  • Build interfaces for different audiences and regions, adapting experiences to the specific needs, preferences, and use cases of each market.
  • Use user behavior data and engagement signals to refine product flows, improve analytics, and measure how new features perform.
  • Collaborate closely with product and engineering teammates to launch important features and shape how customers use the company’s financial products.
  • Develop robust, reusable frontend code with an emphasis on reliability, usability, and maintainability, while testing thoroughly to reduce accessibility and production issues.
  • Produce and keep current technical documentation such as flow diagrams, implementation notes, and testing materials, and help create external user guides for customers and internal teams.
  • Work with product owners, end users, and clients to gather feedback before launch and use that input to improve the final solution.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field is preferred, although a substantial track record of self-directed software development can also be considered.
  • At least 6 years of frontend engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience working across multiple teams, translating requirements, and validating solutions with stakeholders before release.
  • Background in payments, crypto, fintech, or BaaS is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of common web technologies and either proficiency in, or willingness to learn, TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, React, and Figma.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Why Sphere?

Sphere Labs sits at the intersection of crypto infrastructure and regulated finance, just as these worlds are converging. The timing matters: cross-border payments are being rebuilt, stablecoins are entering institutional use, and the next settlement layer is taking shape now.

The role offers substantial ownership with no fixed playbook. Team members are expected to make decisions, create processes, and define direction from scratch. The environment rewards adaptability, since strategy can shift quickly in response to market changes.

The company also points to real traction: SpherePay is already live and trusted by more than 200 businesses, while SphereNet is being developed with banks and regulators across 18 jurisdictions and more. The result is meaningful momentum and a chance to influence what comes next.

Additional Information

The hiring process may involve artificial intelligence tools to help review applications, analyze resumes, assess responses, or flag possible inconsistencies and verification signals using available information. These tools support the recruitment process but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are made by people.
