Filmmaker

Position Summary

River Valley Church is looking for a Filmmaker to join the Media Team in the Creative Department. This role is focused on producing original video content that effectively reflects and communicates the church’s mission, vision, and values. The position covers the complete production cycle, from early concept development through final delivery, and calls for someone who is confident working independently, collaborating with others, operating a camera, and editing in post-production.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and develop creative video concepts both on your own and in collaboration with the team.
• Work professionally and efficiently in studio settings as well as on external shoot locations.
• Prepare shoot setups, determine lighting requirements, and choose the right equipment for each assignment.
• Edit raw footage into polished final video content ready for delivery.
• Keep the team updated on project progress at different stages of production.
• Manage several video projects at once, each at different points in the workflow.
• Contribute across pre-production, production, and post-production depending on the needs of each project.
• Support weekend content capture when required.
• Remain available for occasional evening and weekend shoot schedules.
• Adjust quickly to shifting priorities and overlapping deadlines.

Qualifications

• Highly self-driven with a careful eye for detail.
• Strong abilities in planning time and solving problems efficiently.
• Hands-on experience editing video using Adobe Creative Suite.
• Practical knowledge of lighting setup and audio recording.
• Experience with After Effects will be considered an added advantage.

Education

Any educational background combined with relevant training that shows the ability to carry out the role, with a strong focus on ongoing learning.

Experience

The preferred candidate should bring 2 to 3 years of related experience.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Burnsville, Minnesota. The role may occasionally require evening or weekend work, and support for weekend content capture as needed.
