About KREWE

KREWE is an independent premium eyewear label inspired by the creative energy and cultural identity of New Orleans. Founded in 2013, the brand has become known for handcrafted sun and optical frames that emphasize quality, individuality, and thoughtful design. Today, KREWE is headquartered in both New Orleans and New York City, and its products are sold through boutiques, mobile retail experiences, e-commerce, and select independent and national retail partners.

The company operates in a fast-moving, collaborative environment where team members are expected to be proactive, accountable, and mission-driven. KREWE values people who want to contribute meaningfully, take ownership of their work, and help build a brand with strong cultural roots and broad appeal.

This position is based at the New Orleans headquarters and reports to the Senior Product Designer.

Role Overview

KREWE is hiring a Design Studio Associate to keep the New Orleans design studio running smoothly, accurately, and in an organized way. The role covers both physical and digital studio systems, including the sample library, production archive, shipping and receiving, initial quality checks, and documentation. As the studio grows, this person will help preserve existing systems while also identifying where processes should evolve.

The role also includes support for technical drawing updates, Illustrator-based work, fit modeling, and distribution of creative assets. Strong product judgment, a refined eye for detail, and high precision are essential, along with solid Illustrator skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Keep the New Orleans studio and its New York design counterpart organized, including boards, kits, materials, inspiration references, and the digital sample library.
  • Work with the Senior Product Designer to review revised technical drawings and confirm that CAD specifications are accurate and delivered on time and in full.
  • Prepare samples and supporting materials for fit sessions and design meetings.
  • Participate in product try-ons and help document fit through modeling and visual assessment.
  • Update and maintain shared sample and color tracker boards in Monday.com every day.
  • Review and manage studio and online design libraries, including CAD files.
  • Receive samples and prototypes from manufacturers, verify SKUs against ordering records, and resolve any mismatches or receipt issues.
  • Support technical inspection of eyewear samples and finished products to ensure brand and product standards are met.
  • Assist with building seasonal tech packs.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in product, project management, or operations.
  • Strong taste level and visual judgment, with a keen eye for quality and detail.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a strong sense of initiative.
  • Well-organized, process-driven, and comfortable creating and improving systems.
  • Self-directed, highly detail-oriented, and able to perform in a demanding, high-performance setting.
  • Ability to focus on personal deliverables while supporting broader company objectives.

Benefits and Perks

  • Competitive compensation.
  • Health coverage, including medical, vision, and dental plans.
  • Additional welfare coverage options such as life insurance, AD&D, and supplemental voluntary benefits.
  • Flexible spending account and health savings account programs.
  • 401(k) investment options.
  • Adoption support, employee assistance resources, and commuter benefits.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Quarterly cultural spending allowance.
  • Ongoing learning and development support, including an education allowance.
  • 10 paid holidays plus paid time off accrual.
  • Quarterly eyewear frame allowance for employees.

Diversity and Inclusion

KREWE is committed to maintaining an inclusive workplace where people have equal opportunity to succeed. The company provides equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants and does not discriminate or retaliate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetics, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, pregnancy, or any other legally protected status.
