About the Role
This position is part of the T-Mobile team and plays a key role in enabling better business decisions through data. The work centers on reviewing business needs, turning them into reporting and visualization requirements, and analyzing large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights. The role also involves close coordination with stakeholders to define data elements, capture metadata, and prepare information for analysis. Performance is judged by the usefulness and accuracy of insights, along with the speed and quality of delivered data products.
Work Location
This role must be based in Bellevue, WA; Frisco, TX; Overland Park, KS; New York, NY; or Maitland, FL. It is not a fully remote position and follows a hybrid schedule with at least three in-office days each week.
Responsibilities
- Monitor data quality scorecards, controls, and metrics to spot anomalies, gaps, and inconsistencies.
- Work with Data Quality, Reporting, and Data Engineering teams to investigate discrepancies and support root-cause analysis.
- Maintain clear records of data issues, fixes, and corrective actions.
- Develop and update process guides, standard operating procedures, and quality documentation.
- Assist with audits, compliance checks, and governance reviews by collecting and organizing supporting materials.
- Identify opportunities to improve data quality, governance practices, and operational efficiency.
- Carry out data profiling and collaborate with data stewards and quality leads on remediation efforts.
- Partner with product owners and agile teams to help ensure data initiatives are delivered on time and with quality.
- Interpret data models and convert business needs into technical specifications and design documentation.
- Take on additional tasks and special projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
- Experience with data identification, querying, cleansing, wrangling, quality checks, and use of relational and non-relational databases in on-premises and cloud-based big data environments such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
- Experience translating business questions into analytical approaches and using statistical methods to derive answers from data.
- Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly to business, technical, and non-technical audiences, including delivering data-driven presentations.
- Hands-on experience using SQL with relational databases.
- Experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Exposure to big data architecture and pipelines such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and Kafka is beneficial.
- Familiarity with data governance principles or broader data management best practices is a plus.
- Telecommunications industry experience is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this position is $68,000 to $122,700 per year, with a corporate bonus target of 10%. Actual pay will depend on factors such as location, qualifications, and experience.
Regular non-temporary employees may be eligible for an annual bonus or other incentive bonus structures depending on the role. Many corporate positions also qualify for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual results.
