Role overview

This position is for a Commis III in the Food and Beverage & Culinary function at The Luxury Collection in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management role based onsite.

Core duties

You will assist with food preparation and kitchen operations, following recipes, presentation guidelines, and food quality standards.

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, measuring, and mixing.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation requirements, and preparation checklists.
• Handle cold food preparation and operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Check food for proper doneness and monitor quality throughout preparation.
• Set up and close down the work area as required.
• Plate and serve food in the correct portions and on the appropriate dishes or containers.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment.
• Verify that appliance and food temperatures are correct.

Workplace standards and conduct

You are expected to follow company, safety, and security procedures, report hazards, incidents, injuries, and maintenance issues, and complete required safety training and certifications. Professional grooming, confidentiality, clear communication, teamwork, and respect for quality standards are essential. The role also requires standing, sitting, or walking for long periods, bending and reaching as needed, and moving items up to 25 pounds without assistance. Other duties may be assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and experience

The preferred background includes a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of related work experience, and no prior supervisory experience. No license or certification is required.
