Role overview
This position focuses on procurement for automotive interior and exterior trim components. The buyer will work with suppliers and internal teams to make sure materials meet quality expectations, cost targets, and production needs.
Responsibilities
- Identify and source interior and exterior trim parts from suppliers while maintaining the required quality standards.
- Partner with design teams to choose suitable materials, finishes, and design options that align with customer expectations.
- Work with suppliers on pricing discussions to reduce cost without lowering quality.
- Monitor inventory by reviewing stock, anticipating demand, and placing orders as needed.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of experience in sourcing interior and exterior trims within the automotive sector.
- Good understanding of the materials used in vehicle manufacturing, including plastic and metal.
- Strong negotiation ability to obtain competitive supplier pricing.
- Comfort working with cross-functional teams such as design, engineering, and production planning.
