Role overview
Gensler is looking for a Benefits Analyst to join its Human Resources team in Singapore. In this role, you will support the analysis, coordination, administration, and rollout of global benefit, retirement, and compensation programs across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, and Greater China. You will also contribute to the creation and launch of benefit and retirement plans in newly entered countries as the business continues to grow internationally.
This opportunity is well suited to a benefits specialist who enjoys improving employee experiences and wants to be part of a global organization that uses design to create impact.
Key responsibilities
- Help roll out new benefit programs as the company expands into additional countries, working with senior colleagues to ensure alignment with broader strategy.
- Create and deliver communication materials for onboarding, annual benefit enrollment, new initiatives, and worldwide benefit and retirement launches.
- Work with HR, brokers, and vendors to plan and deliver in-person learning sessions, webinars, quarterly wellbeing updates, and Annual Wellbeing Awareness Week activities.
- Carry out benefit changes by updating summaries, HR SharePoint content, and related platforms such as Workday, payroll, and VantagePoint, while also preparing employee communications and arranging onsite presentations.
- Review market benchmarking information to guide benefit strategy and competitiveness, including gathering and assessing local compensation data from regional brokers and survey sources.
- Support Global Profit Sharing Plan programs by distributing statements, organizing country-specific education sessions, and advising employees on annual contributions, balances, and cash-out steps.
- Assist with detailed analysis for large annual exercises such as June bonus, merit, and profit-sharing, working alongside HR and payroll teams to collect and evaluate local pay data.
- Act as a local contact for retirement and compensation questions, using systems such as TMF and Workday and partnering with local HR, brokers, vendors, and payroll to provide prompt and effective service.
- Take ownership of special projects and complete other tasks as needed.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in human resources or business is required.
- At least 6 years of global benefits experience, either in an HR position or as a consultant, ideally in a large international company, with some exposure to retirement plans.
- Strong understanding of benefits legislation and the ability to keep pace with changing global compliance requirements.
- A service-focused mindset, with the ability to handle employee questions about retirement and benefits professionally and effectively.
- Experience managing relationships with brokers and vendors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex benefit updates clearly and prepare employee communications for both improvements and reductions.
- Comfort working independently, solving difficult problems, and influencing stakeholders across regions.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and positive in approach.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, handle multiple workstreams, and consistently go beyond expectations.
- Strong analytical ability and experience working with large data sets using technology.
- Ability to develop strong cross-functional relationships and align stakeholders at different levels on complex initiatives.
- Solid project management capabilities, with the ability to solve issues both independently and as part of a global team.
- Willingness to travel and speak confidently to large employee groups.
- Advanced MS Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using HRIS platforms, with Workday preferred.
- Mandarin fluency is strongly preferred because the role will involve work with brokers and insurers based in China.
Benefits and workplace culture
- Access to medical, dental, vision, disability, and wellness programs.
- Participation in profit sharing and two bonus opportunities each year.
- Support for certain professional licenses, renewals, and exam fees.
- Tuition reimbursement for certain eligible courses or programs.
- A people-first culture that includes internal design competitions, research grants, and Well-being Week activities.
