About the role
Dow Jones is seeking an Analyst for its Asia desk to support the Oxford Analytica Daily Brief, a publication that delivers clear, impartial insight and forecasting on geopolitics, political economy, and markets for private- and public-sector clients. In this role, you will focus on countries across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia, working closely with internal colleagues and a network of subject-matter experts.
What you'll do
- Commission, shape, and edit briefs covering a broad range of Asian countries, with particular emphasis on macroeconomics, sector analysis, and fiscal and monetary issues, delivering 2 to 3 briefs each week.
- Draft shorter daily analysis pieces that extend and reinforce the perspective developed in the longer briefs.
What we're looking for
- Strong understanding of at least one Asian region, including its politics, economy, and international relations, supported by a relevant MA or PhD.
- Prior experience in a related role, especially one involving teamwork, fixed daily deadlines, and a demanding editorial workflow.
- A curiosity-driven mindset, with an eagerness to keep learning and openness to guidance from colleagues.
- The ability to identify, build relationships with, and retain external experts, since each longer brief is produced jointly by an in-house analyst and one specialist contributor.
- Excellent English writing and editing skills, along with the flexibility to adapt style and tone to different formats and editorial requirements.
Benefits
- Comprehensive healthcare coverage.
- Paid time away from work.
- Retirement support plans.
