Role overview

This position is for a Coronial Services Administration Support Officer based in Dunedin. You will support Case Managers and Coroners by handling the administrative needs of the Dunedin Court office. • Share information and coordinate with stakeholders and government agencies, including interested parties, Police, medical practitioners, pathologists, and others.
  • Support the coordination of Coroners and Coroners Court staff for meetings and events.

Working style and interpersonal expectations

The role requires strong people skills, as you will work closely with Coroners and also interact sensitively with distraught family members in emotionally difficult circumstances. • You should understand and respect cultural matters, especially Tikanga Māori.
  • You need to be well organised, able to prioritise effectively, and manage several tasks independently.
  • A solid working knowledge of the MS Office suite is required.

About the team and workplace

You will join the Southern Coroners Court team, which operates across the Southern Region and is mainly based in Christchurch and Dunedin. In Dunedin, you will work in a medium-sized, supportive team that assists Coroners and Case Managers. The position offers a varied workload, along with strong training and support services.
