Role Summary
This position calls for an organized and meticulous Accountant to oversee the company’s day-to-day financial activities. The role is central to maintaining accurate records, monitoring cash movement, supporting purchasing and cost control, and delivering dependable financial reports that help management make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
The Accountant will handle routine accounting operations, support procurement and inventory-related financial activities, and prepare reports that reflect the company’s financial health and operational efficiency.
- Enter and track daily financial transactions accurately in Sage Accounting.
- Match daily sales, cash receipts, POS records, and bank deposits.
- Prepare bank deposits each day and keep an eye on business bank accounts.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and maintain organized accounting records.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Review supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, and assist with procurement choices.
- Draft and release purchase orders, then coordinate with suppliers on delivery and payment matters.
- Monitor inventory costs and purchasing expenses to support better cost efficiency.
- Assess food cost, beverage cost, and operating spend, and suggest ways to reduce costs while protecting quality.
- Compile weekly and monthly reports such as Profit & Loss summaries, sales analysis, expense analysis, cost control reports, cash flow reports, and budget-versus-actual comparisons.
- Prepare monthly trial balances and assist with financial statement preparation.
- Support month-end and year-end closing work.
- Ensure financial files and supporting documents are properly maintained.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts.
- Follow company policies and Qatar financial regulations.
- Work with auditors, external accountants, and government bodies when needed.
- Provide management with financial analysis and recommendations to improve profitability and operating performance.
- Take on additional finance or administrative tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of accounting experience; background in hospitality, F&B, or contracting is considered an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Sage Accounting is required.
- Strong Excel capability, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and financial reporting tools.
- Prior exposure to supplier coordination, procurement comparisons, and cost analysis.
- Solid understanding of inventory control and cost accounting concepts.
- Ability to independently prepare weekly and monthly management reports.
- High standards of integrity, precision, confidentiality, and analytical judgment.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Capacity to perform under pressure and meet reporting deadlines.
Additional Qualifications
