About the internship
This part-time remote internship is for a Java Development role with a community-focused education initiative. The selected intern will contribute to technology work that supports an educational platform serving children from underserved backgrounds. The role is suited to someone comfortable working across both development and basic interface design tasks, while using their skills to support a meaningful social mission.
What you will work on
- Partner with the development team to plan and build new features for the education platform.
- Develop clear, efficient, and maintainable code using Java and related web technologies.
- Help identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues so the platform runs smoothly.
- Support frontend work to improve the look, feel, and usability of the interface.
- Build backend components that manage data handling and storage effectively.
- Participate in user testing and use feedback to strengthen the UI/UX experience.
- Keep track of current tools, trends, and practices in software development and bring in fresh ideas where useful.
