Warehouse Worker - Full Time

Role overview

Pet Valu, the specialty pet retailer behind Bosley's, Tisol, and Total Pet, is hiring warehouse workers for its Surrey, British Columbia facility. This role is part of an active warehouse team responsible for getting store orders ready for shipment to retail locations.

The position involves order picking, pallet building, equipment operation, and keeping the workspace safe, tidy, and efficient.

Pay begins at $19 per hour.

Education and experience

A high school diploma is the minimum education requirement. Candidates should also have 500 hours of experience operating a motorized walkie (end-rider). A reach truck certification is considered an advantage, though it is not mandatory.

Applicants must be able to lift products weighing up to 50 lbs each.

Key duties

• Prepare each pick by setting the starting and ending points for pallet collection.
• Pick items based on store order sheets and related packing instructions.
• Track picked quantities accurately, keeping mistakes within an error rate of no more than 3 to 5 errors per 1,000 items.
• Assemble pallets while following limits for height, weight, stability, and secure wrapping.
• Carry out housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and removing cardboard to maintain a safe work area.
• Notify replenishment staff when pick locations are empty.
• Use moving equipment responsibly and check that it is in proper working condition before each shift.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.
