Abbott Diabetes Care Kilkenny

The Kilkenny site is a newly opened facility focused on diabetes care and equipped with modern technology to produce FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors used in diabetes management. Key Abbott Diabetes Care product lines include FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite, and FreeStyle Libre.

Role Overview

As a Warehouse Operator in Kilkenny, you will support the Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams by ensuring a reliable, high-standard warehousing service. The role covers receiving, storing, and shipping materials and products while following Abbott quality standards, procedures, and service expectations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out tasks tied to receiving, storing, controlling inventory, and dispatching materials.
• Follow EHS policies, programs, and procedures, and take responsibility for personal and team safety by flagging improvement opportunities.
• Handle routine warehouse movements for materials and finished goods, including receipt, transfer, and shipment.
• Accept deliveries on site and log the information in the Warehouse Management System.
• Select and stage materials according to production work orders and the kanban process.
• Prepare, pick, and dispatch materials for subcontract or third-party manufacturing, including transport coordination where needed.
• Prepare and send finished goods for distribution.
• Process transactions in the ERP system for receipt, issue, shipment, and transfer activities.
• Complete inventory checks in line with site PIC requirements and cycle count procedures.
• Work with Operations Planning colleagues to address issues related to material receipt and approval.
• Keep equipment in safe, clean, and functional condition, and maintain a tidy, orderly warehouse environment.
• Report housekeeping, cleaning, and safety concerns to the Warehouse Lead.
• Help build a safe workplace by identifying and escalating safety risks proactively.
• Operate warehouse equipment and machinery according to manufacturer guidance and training requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Good communication skills are essential.
• Must be comfortable and confident working at heights, including VNA operation.
• Forklift experience is preferred but not mandatory because training will be provided.
• Strong focus on accuracy and detail is required.
• Prior experience in a stores or warehouse setting is an advantage.
• Comfort using computers is important.
