Job Summary
The Visual and Dimensional Inspector will be responsible for conducting visual and dimensional checks on parts according to established work instructions. This role reports directly to the Operations Leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute visual and dimensional inspections and manage designated work areas.
- Verify that all work clearances, routers, documentation, and records are accurate and complete.
- Document the initial condition of parts to ensure accurate work scope determination, particularly for incoming inspections.
- Confirm that parts meet all specified quality requirements as a final inspector.
- Prevent the progression of non-conforming parts to subsequent workstations.
- Assist Manufacturing and Quality Engineers with evaluations, audits, and related activities as needed.
- Gather and provide feedback on part quality to Manufacturing and Quality Engineers.
- Undertake scheduled maintenance and housekeeping duties.
- Support other departments with relevant tasks and any other assigned duties.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a GCE ‘O’ level or equivalent qualification with at least 3 years of experience in quality inspection.
- Alternatively, hold a GCE ‘A’ level or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 2 years of quality inspection experience.
- A NITEC in Mechanical Engineering is also acceptable.
- Relevant recognized technical training or certifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Desired Characteristics
- A Diploma in Mechanical and/or Aircraft Engineering is advantageous.
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English.
- Familiarity with common flaws and defects.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to interpret blueprints.
- Prior Quality Control experience in a repair or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Competent in using Microsoft Office applications.
- A collaborative team player.
