Vice President of Artificial Intelligence

Overview

This is a permanent, on-site leadership opportunity based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The role is for a senior AI executive who will shape and drive the company’s enterprise-wide artificial intelligence direction for a business focused on smart solutions for the utilities sector.

Role Summary

The Vice President of AI will own the global AI agenda, identify where AI can create measurable business value, establish and grow a Global AI Hub, and help extend AI solutions across the organization. The position also involves working with teams in different regions, so occasional travel will be part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the global strategy for artificial intelligence across the business.
• Spot and assess AI-led opportunities that can improve commercial and operational outcomes.
• Develop and expand a Global AI Hub, building on the core team already in place.
• Drive the adoption and scaling of AI solutions across functions and geographies.
• Partner with regional teams and senior stakeholders to align priorities and execution.
• Travel internationally when needed to support collaboration across markets.

Experience & Background

The ideal candidate will bring more than 6 years of leadership experience in technology-focused roles. A strong history of supporting large-scale AI, digital, or product transformation programs is important, along with direct experience managing sizable teams of data scientists and engineers across locations. The role also requires confidence in executive-level stakeholder management, a track record of creating AI teams or digital units, and relevant experience in AI within the same or a closely related industry. Familiarity with modern AI and data platforms and technologies is expected.
