This position sits within Media Futures Group, a major WPP Media brand built as a bespoke global solution for Google. The team operates under the WPP and WPP Media structure and focuses on data-led media, creative strategy, digital marketing, and AI-enabled advertising for Google’s marketing needs.
Role Overview
We are looking for an accomplished, resilient, and emotionally intelligent Vice President of Client Operations to shape and strengthen the operational and commercial structure across the Asia-Pacific region.
Located at the Singapore APAC headquarters, this role serves as the operational centre of the regional client business. The scope spans Australia, China, Japan, India, Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore, supporting a workforce of about 450 professionals.
Working closely with the APAC Client President, you will guide a specialist team of 15 operations professionals. Your focus will be on improving profitability, building reliable campaign delivery processes with strong AI adoption, and raising operational performance across varied and complex markets.
Commercial Management and Strategy
- Shape, own, and roll out the region’s commercial agreements and operating strategy.
- Ensure client objectives are aligned with the agency’s need for financial resilience, revenue expansion, and margin improvement.
- Handle sophisticated commercial discussions and confirm that staffing and resourcing plans remain financially sound and well-optimised.
Workflow Management and Risk Control
- Design and supervise the full campaign delivery process across APAC in line with global standards and best practices.
- Spot, control, and reduce revenue exposure, operational blockers, and campaign issues.
- Promote the use of AI tools and automation in everyday processes to make campaign execution more future-ready.
Operational Improvement and Innovation
- Continuously identify practical, flexible ways of working that save time and improve output quality.
- Refine team structures and processes while protecting commercial performance and client delivery standards.
- Lead regional change initiatives so local markets can adopt and succeed within new operating models.
Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management
- Lead, coach, and energise a regional team of 15 operations specialists, building a culture of high performance, positivity, and ongoing improvement.
- Work effectively within a complex global matrix, ensuring regional realities are balanced with worldwide strategic priorities.
Key Performance Indicators
- Commercial health: attainment of regional profitability goals, margin growth, and successful renewals.
- Operational excellence: fewer campaign errors and incidents, plus successful deployment of time-saving AI-based automation.
- Team and leadership: strong retention, positive engagement results, and effective resolution of market-level escalations.
- Client satisfaction: improved client ratings related to operations, agility, and resource planning.
Experience and Core Skills
This role requires more than 15 years of senior-level experience in media agencies supporting large multinational clients.
You should have a deep working knowledge of the APAC media environment and the cultural nuances that come with operating across diverse markets.
Expected strengths include advanced project management, change leadership, process design and execution, commercial negotiation, and business strategy.
You should also be a strong problem-solver who can address complex escalations calmly and positively.
Excellent presentation and communication skills are essential, including the ability to turn complex operational information into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
