Telecom Technician / Fiber Optic Technician

Job Overview

This is an outsourced full-time Telecom Technician / Fiber Optic Technician position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The assignment runs for 12 months with the possibility of extension, and the compensation can go up to AED 3,900.

Core Responsibilities

• Set up and activate FTTH services at customer locations.
• Carry out fiber splicing, cable termination, and testing with OTDR and power meter tools.
• Diagnose and fix fiber network faults such as weak signals and connectivity interruptions.
• Install and route fiber cabling for both aerial and underground work as required by the project.
• Visit sites, assess installation needs, and document the work completed.
• Make sure all work follows the required safety and quality standards.
• Work closely with network engineers and supervisors to close faults efficiently.
• Offer simple customer guidance and explain how to use the service when needed.

Requirements

• A diploma or ITI qualification in Electronics, Telecommunications, or a similar discipline is needed.
• Candidates should have 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in FTTH or fiber optic installation.
• Practical knowledge of splicing, testing, and troubleshooting fiber networks is essential.
• Experience using OTDR, fusion splicer, and optical power meter equipment is required.
• Familiarity with GPON and EPON systems is important.
• Applicants must be able to interpret network drawings and cable route plans.
• Good communication skills and a problem-solving approach are expected.
• The role also specifies 3 to 5 years of experience as a Telecom Technician.
