Role overview
This position sits within the accounting and compliance function and is based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The role focuses on maintaining accurate books, supporting statutory and tax compliance, and strengthening controls and process discipline across finance operations.
Core responsibilities
You will be responsible for routine accounting operations, MIS reporting, compliance filings, audit support, and financial close activities. The role also involves reviewing current systems and workflows, spotting gaps, and coordinating with relevant teams or agencies to improve them. A key part of the job is to help streamline business processes so service delivery to the business becomes more effective and efficient.
- Prepare daily and monthly MIS reports.
- Submit statutory information and other required filings within deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and other applicable laws.
- Maintain strong internal controls to support accurate, complete transaction processing.
- Review existing systems and processes, identify gaps, and work with concerned stakeholders to drive improvements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by revisiting and redesigning business processes.
- Respond to audit observations and queries.
- Support account closure and finalization activities.
- Perform trial balance scrutiny and related checks.
- Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a proactive approach to work.
Knowledge and capability expectations
The role calls for practical familiarity with SAP and MS Office, along with a solid grasp of accounting principles. Knowledge of direct and indirect taxation, customs, TDS, GST, and related compliance requirements is important. A basic understanding of legal and commercial concepts is also expected.
Skills and competencies
Strong planning and organization, clear communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to work to tight deadlines are important for success in this role.
Education requirement
CA qualification is required.
