About the role

BetterUp is looking for a Strategy & Operations Manager, Services to help shape a new go-to-market motion centered on CxO engagement, peer connections, and a consultative sales approach. In this role, you will work closely with the Services and Delivery teams to surface data-backed insights and launch cross-functional initiatives that support coaching at scale.

You will also partner with senior leadership, including executives and the board, on the company’s most important priorities. The role calls for strong analytical thinking, operational discipline, excellent organization, and the ability to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics with maturity and confidence.

BetterUp describes its culture as intense, fulfilling, inventive, and purpose-driven. The company uses a hybrid model, and employees are expected to work from one of the office hubs at least two days per week or eight days per month. Eligible US hubs include Austin, New York City, San Francisco, and the Washington, DC metro area. If the role is based in Europe, the hubs are London and Amsterdam.

Key responsibilities

  • Research enterprise accounts and key stakeholders for the target segment.
  • Prepare executive-level communication materials and supporting deliverables outside of formal proposals.
  • Coordinate internal collaboration across functions, ensuring strong alignment and smooth execution.
  • Manage engagement with prospect CxOs to maintain strategic alignment.
  • Own and coordinate RFP responses, including response strategy and preparation of materials as needed.
  • Develop detailed analyses for individual projects with a high degree of independence.
  • Translate project findings into actionable insights that help improve the coaching platform.
  • Coordinate several business initiatives at different stages simultaneously.
  • Strengthen data-driven decision-making across functions.
  • Build tools and reports that support executive decision-making.
  • Help drive consensus around insights and recommended next steps.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders across the business.

Experience and qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or a comparable field.
  • A BA/BS degree; the company values practical learning and application over a specific major.
  • Strong interest in organizational behavior, positive psychology, coaching, or behavioral science.
  • Curiosity and initiative to investigate the root causes behind outcomes.
  • Comfort working with both quantitative and qualitative data to generate focused insights.
  • Strong project management skills with careful attention to detail and follow-through on deadlines.
  • Ability to work with urgency and prioritize across multiple projects at once.
  • A hands-on, proactive style with a willingness to tackle both strategic and tactical work.
  • A collaborative mindset with low ego and a team-first approach.
  • Comfort working in an environment that uses AI as part of daily work and values continuous learning and experimentation.

Benefits and compensation

The role offers a competitive compensation package with growth opportunities. Full-time employees receive medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible paid time off, observed federal/statutory holidays, 4 BetterUp Inner Workdays, 5 volunteer days, a learning and development stipend, company-wide summer and winter breaks, a year-round charitable contribution benefit, and 401(k) self-contribution. Employees also get BetterUp coaching for themselves and one additional person, such as a friend or family member.

The base salary range depends on location. For Zone A (San Francisco and New York), the range is $120,000 to $150,000. For Zone B (all other hubs), the range is $108,000 to $135,000. Base pay is determined by relevant experience, education or training, location, and market factors. Equity, sales bonus plans where applicable, and benefits are separate from base salary.

Equal opportunity and privacy

BetterUp is committed to equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, genetics, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or veteran status. The company also follows applicable state and local nondiscrimination laws across employment actions such as hiring, placement, promotion, termination, leave, compensation, and training.

By applying, candidates acknowledge that personal information will be handled according to the company’s Applicant Privacy Notice. Questions about privacy or personal data rights may be directed to the provided support contact.
